Bettina SEVERIN-BARBOUTIE

Bettina Severin-Barboutie is the Alexander von Humboldt “Feodor Lynen” scholarship recipient at l’UMR 8138 Sirice, and also visiting researcher at the Institut historique allemand in Paris. She is a member of the LabEx EHNE and the holder of a doctorate in modern history. She works on the history of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries from a multi-faceted and longue durée perspective, with particular interest in the Napoleonic period in Europe, questions of mobility and migration, and the history of the city and of popular culture. Her current projects explore the comparative history of migrations to Stuttgart and Lyon after 1945, travel during times of war or the aftermath of war, transnational families and couples, as well as war in comic books. One of her latest publications is: “Historische Migrationsforschung auf dem Prüfstand,” 2014 (online).
